Neighborhood Tool Bank

Need some tools for spring cleanup or to start a garden?

Comprehensive Community Solutions, Inc. announces the 2011 opening of the Neighborhood Tool Bank, 907 S. Main St .

The Tool Bank loans out a variety of gardening and lawn maintenance tools free of charge. Examples of available tools are rakes, shovels, pick-up sticks, garden hoses and hand cultivators. It is intended to provide resources for environmental and beautification efforts in our community in order to promote a true sense of neighborhood pride and empowerment.

Over the last nine years, the Neighborhood Tool Bank has provided supplies and equipment to help both private residents and local neighborhood groups make environmental improvements within their neighborhoods. The Tool Bank has also worked with a total of 1,200 individuals within the community helping them to conduct a total of 190 community service projects. 

The Tool Bank will be open until Oct. 1, 2011. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Interested parties should schedule an appointment in advance. Brochures and reservation forms are also available.
